Here’s an update from missionaries Jerry and Connie Adams in Peru. Please keep them in your prayers.

Greetings from the Jungle!

We have good news! We’ve launched the second phase of the Bible School! It is up and running, and the students have taken their first midterm exam and all have passed!
All of the ongoing classes are going well, and we’re excited to see the Word changing lives! In the village of Santa Tomas we have had 4 baptism services!

We’re working with ladies groups in two churches, and along with teaching the Word, we’re teaching them to make things with their hands. Our first project was making a purse. The ladies can sell these bags for 4 times what it costs in supplies to make. Some of our ladies are very quick with their hands, and they can make these purses in a couple of evenings. They are so excited to be able to do something in their homes that will produce an income to help with expense, while still caring for their families. Our next project is teaching them to embroider so they can decorate the purses, and sell them at a higher price.

We thought we might share a little of daily life with you to show you just how much your prayers mean to us. Jerry was trimming some trees that were growing into electrical lines on the front of the property, and came face to face with a 4 1/2 foot long iguana. It scared them both a little. He moved down a ways, and continued cutting the trees, and next encountered a long skinny object. He thought it was a rather large snake, but soon found out, it was Iggie’s tail! Surprise once again!

Our trip to the village of Santa Tomas every week takes about an 1 1/2 hours. We are able to go by jeep, as half of the road is dirt. When it rains, it is a mud slide. Some of these trips have been quite eventful! This week, as we were on the way home the jeep blew a tire! Praise God, we were more than 1/2 the way home before the tire blew.

We literally feel the prayers of the brothers on a daily basis. Conditions could have been so much worse! We see the hand of God protecting us daily. The iguana Jerry encountered was only inches from his face, and yet he wasn’t hurt. The dirt road to Santa Tomas is long and deserted, and Connie and Kaitlyn could have been in danger had they been stranded there after dark when the jeep tire blew. We Praise God for His protection daily, and we thank each of you who have so faithfully prayed for us! We truly appreciate your prayers!

We thank God for every opportunity He gives us to share the Word, and see lives changed. We thank each of you for your part in this ministry through your prayers and finances. Together we are making a difference, to God be the Glory!

If you’ve not had an opportunity to support his ministry with your finances in the past, we would like to invite you to be a part, we would certainly welcome your support. Together we can do more for Him! You may send our tax deductible donations to:

Church property and shoulder pain

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Here’s a great report from Pastor Randy.

I received a text today stating that the land another church in the city was looking at for their new building was being considered by the Buddhists to build a Temple in our city. We immediately started praying. I also emailed the pastor of the church telling him I would like to meet him at the land and come into agreement for it and stake the claim for the Kingdom and his church. His response was he could not meet right now because he was on the way to the realtor’s office. He also stated that he had a shoulder that was locked up and giving him pain. Wondering if it was an attack or a previous injury he requested prayer.

Instead of emailing again I called the pastor and caught him driving to an appointment to write a contract on the land. I asked if I could pray with him over the phone and he said, “please.” We came into agreement about the land but then we prayed about his shoulder. I asked him to check it out and his response told me that God had done something. I asked him to consider where it was on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being no change 10 being completely healed. He started saying “Wow!” and chuckling and told me the pain had significantly reduced and the had more movement. We prayed again and in a matter of moments all the pain had left and he had full range of motion.

God heals knees!

I was at another church for a Sunday night service and Pastor Randy spoke and talked about what all was going on here at the Summit. Then he had everyone who was suffering with some type of sickness or injury. This lady stood up so i went to pray for her. She had some problem with her knee but when we were done praying she said it felt great. Praise God!

Treasure Hunt Report

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Treasure Hunt is just a name given to a scheduled opportunity to do what God wants us doing all the time – changing the atmosphere of our community and touching people’s lives. Here’s a report from our latest treasure hunting opportunity.

  • On the treasure hunt Friday night, At Wal-mart Brian saw a women hunched over a walker. They asked what was wrong and she told them that she had herniated disks, he asked if he could pray for her. They prayed and she said she felt heat all over her body. They prayed again and she was totally healed. Later in Wal-mart they say her husband sitting on the walker and she was bent down looking at something on the bottom shelf!
  • One group had an opportunity to help someone with their car that had broken down. Brain asked Alisha if there were any jumper cables in the van. Alisha didn’t think there were, but Fran spoke up with a word of knowledge and said, “back of the van, drivers side, little pouch.” So Brian went to the back of the van and found them in a little pouch on the drivers side. He said, “I found them.” Fran said, “Are they orange?” Brain said, “nope you missed that one.” Everyone laughed. Our God is so cool and He likes to have fun with us!
  • The other group didn’t find all their treasures, but one of our youngest hunters (a seventh grader) had the opportunity to pray with a woman and her daughter for financial blessings. There is no “junior” Holy Spirit – praise God!

God cares about our businesses

Isn’t it good when God shows up right when you need him? Here’s a testimony from Pastor Randy.

I was meeting with Hutch and Bryan and we were talking about Rev 19:10 and how the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy. While we were talking Bryan brought up some challenges in his work and how he needed some answers for some question being asked by his client. We talked about how we have the authority to speak life or death with our tongue so we began to speak life into this situation and declare that Bryan was the solution and was going into the meeting as LIGHT. As we are talking Bryan got a phone call and on the other end the man said he had just read some documents that gave him the answer they needed. With this answer there was solution and it came as we were speaking life and answer into the situation… YEA!!!!
GOD!!!!!

A new way to communicate!!!

At the Summit we’re always trying to find the most efficient way to get important information to members, visitors and others who might be interested.

To that end, we’re starting a blog. This is where we’ll post miracle reports, information about special events, and maybe a few opinion pieces about what’s going on ‘out there’ in the world.

Check back often – you’re likely to find something new next time you visit!
